Okay I'm a little late but may I proudly announce the arrival of MISS CALLIE ANN COTTON, August 10th, 2008, 12:37am, 7lbs 4oz, & 19 1/2in. And what an arrival she made. After attending a baby shower at work and announcing there the plan to go into labor it actually happened. My family (along with my parents, brother's family and good friend and her grandson) went to the Williamson County Fair around 4pm on August 9th. After walking up the large hill, you guys know the one, I started having a couple contractions no big deal. We then all headed to Cracker Barrel for some yummy dinner around 7pm. It was there I realized the contractions were continuing and quite frequently but I had to get in some biscuits and a chicken tender salad. I honestly thought if I went home and laid down they would surely stop. I never made it home though, we headed start to the hospital from the good old Cracker Barrel and I was then shortly demanding an epidural. Well I was only dilated to 3 when I arrived so the doctor wanted me to progress a little more before I was actually admitted even though my contractions were basically on top of each other. I was not a happy camper and the nurse and Stephen can definitely attest to this. Finally an hour of waiting and even though I hadn't progressed much the charge nurse convinced the doctor to allow an epidural. Well I sure got one, it numbed me below and opps up too! All those medical tv shows paid off and Stephen got to particpate as he's always dreamed of in a little STAT situation. He made me proud. I'm okay yes I'm okay, a little scary but the nurse responded quickly along with M-URSE Stevie, the epidural was stopped and O2 worked. My doctor then came in to check me and opps the little stich from my cerclage that kept sweet Callie in so long was still there, Humm no wonder I wasn't progressing. Well I quickly dilated to 4 and within the hour Callie made her entrance (oh and I did receive another epidural, thank goodness). All and All a Happy Ending to my pregnancy and Happy Beginning to our new little bundle of joy. Just a tale to tell. Big Sister is so proud and being such a big helper, she loves to kiss on Callie and for the 1st couple days asked frequently is this Baby Callie? Well here's some pictures of our latest little Cotton!
