So yesterday I went back to work and all and all the day was pretty darn BAD! It started with me having to leave my 12 week old, which I just wasn't really ready for, and it ended with the Vandy Police! When I got to work, since I was forced to resign for maternity leave and be rehired, my ID badge didn't work. I hiked a half a mile across campus only to be turned down with, "Got to have the form honey". I decided after returning to my floor out of breath I would do that later. Next I attempted the computer: ACCESS DENIED. The appropriate people to fix this problem where: A. In England on vacation or B. Teaching a class (answer both). Well I decided I'd deal with that later too. By this time my boops were getting sore so might as well pump, was I suppose to work today? I decided to hike back and get my ID badge with the FORM and it worked, yipee (I even got to keep my old picture, you know the one 5 years ago when I was much skinnier and fresh back from the honeymoon!) So the day was getting better. I paired up with another nurse and received a crash course in the new computer charting system and got to hang with her the rest of the day, not bad. Finally 5:30 rolled around and I anxiously anticipated hugging and kissing on my girls. I then met another nurse at the lockers who had forgotten her combination and couldn't get her car keys out. I told her I was sorry and I'd have a breakdown with her to make her feel better. It was then I reached for my keys and realized they weren't in my bag, lunch bag, breastpump bag (lots of bags here), or pockets! Yes of course they were in the front seat of my car LOCKED, now I really could have a breakdown! I called my husband who was almost home and then decided the Vandy police might could help. The BLACK and GOLD Bike patrol arrived 30 mins later and began shimmying with the old slim jim, IT DIDN'T WORK. It's times like this you wish you had an old clunker and a BIG HAMMER! Finally at 7pm my parents (thank you wonderful parents) arrived with a key and I was off to home sweet home. Next I approached the large wreck on 65, no joke. The good news is I made it home around 8 greeted with lots of love and a big "I Missed You Mommy" and I'm not working again til next week!

Oh man. I am so sorry! I hope you have a better day today.
Oh goodness! Is this what I have to look forward to? Sorry it was an awful day... I know how hard it is to go back... And then a day like THAT? Hope next week is better! Let's do lunch again soon!
Good Grief! I was missing work until I read that post :) You gotta love the Black and Gold police though. That was probably the most action they've seen in 2008!
